My children successfully completed 12 years in the public school system, and went on to graduate from public universities. I myself am a product of the public school system including a BA from UC Berkeley.
As a parent, I felt it was my duty to my children and to my community to participate in the schools. I volunteered in my children’s classrooms on a regular basis and served on the board of the Parent Teacher Organization. In their high school years I was on the Principal’s Advisory Board.
The Trustee position requires the ability to work with people and come to consensus even when there are differences. I have extensive board member experience that is so important in that regard. I am a past board member of Angels Over Sandpoint, serving as secretary at one point. Currently, I am in my sixth year on the board of Bonner County Republican Women, Inc. and in my fifth year as president of the organization. I also serve as the Baldy Precinct Republican Committeewoman, and am the Bonner County Republican State Committeewoman. In addition, I volunteer my time to serve on the Local Emergency Management Planning Committee, and am an associate member of Priest Lake Search and Rescue. I am passionate about Bonner County and work hard to keep it the wonderful place that it is.
Also, important to the Trustee position is business experience. As a small business owner, along with my husband Dr. Peter Zeischegg, I managed Zeischegg Chiropractic Neurology practice for 12 years. I currently work with my husband in our international online wellness business, www.drz.org, a business that aids clients in achieving and maintaining health without drugs or surgery.
Together Peter and I raised four children in our blended family and our current household includes two golden retrievers, Ellie and Chance.
Having been active in local organizations for many years in Bonner County I know the importance of quality local public education. There is a lot of discord in our community right now, and I am running for Trustee, Zone Three, to help heal that division and bring our district together to create a sustainable future for LPOSD.
